Grubhub Created a Pastrami-Inspired Martini So Diners Can Toast to the Series Finale of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Prime Video

Starting today, Manhattan diners can pre-order the Maisel Tov Martini, a first-of-its-kind delivery experience exclusively on Grubhub

Chicago, IL April 11, 2023 – Mazel Tov, or should we say Maisel Tov! Grubhub is giving fans of the award-winning Prime Video series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel a taste of Midge’s two favorite things, Jewish deli fare and a stiff drink, with the exclusive Maisel Tov Martini. Fans who live in Manhattan can raise a glass to Midge just in time for the premiere of the series finale on April 14 by pre-ordering now on Grubhub using code MaiselTov at checkout from the Marvelous Café, a virtual Grubhub restaurant concept created for the special occasion.

The Maisel Tov Martini will be available only on Grubhub to Manhattan diners in celebration of the season 5 premiere of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

The Maisel Tov Martini is crafted by renowned NYC mixologist Pamela Wiznitzer. In this unique, savory take on the classic gin martini, diners can anticipate hints of caraway in the vermouth that ties in the rye bread and a perfectly seasoned olive with the savory spices of the rub. The cocktail comes with a special oil that uses the ingredients found in the brine and rub of pastrami, which is shaken thoroughly into the martini to create a richness that tastes like biting into the pastrami, while keeping it vegetarian.

Orders of the Maisel Tov Martini include everything fans need to enjoy the cocktail at home, including bottles of the specialty cocktail for two, garnishes, a cocktail shaker, two martini glasses and preparation instructions, with dazzling packaging inspired by Midge’s signature style. Along with the cocktail, diners can choose among three sandwich options – pastrami, corned beef, or turkey on rye, or a stuffed cabbage entrée from The Marvelous Café to pair with the beverage. Each kit also includes a pickle, a potato knish and a black and white cookie for a complete deli-inspired experience from the comfort of home.

The entire Maisel Tov Martini experience is available for delivery on April 14 and April 15 from 2:30 – 8pm ET only in Manhattan via Grubhub for $29.95. Diners can pick their preferred date and time, must be 21+ and have a valid photo I.D. upon delivery. With only 1,000 kits available, orders are limited to 1 kit per customer. Available delivery time slots will close as orders fill up. Full terms and conditions can be found here.

“The Maisel Tov Martini experience is just one of the ways we are excited to expand our yearlong Grubhub collaboration,” said Jennifer Verdick, head of partnerships and consumer events for Prime Video. “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has a history of incredible alignments, and we feel that Grubhub and Prime Video are a perfect pairing to bring this exclusive offering to life.”

The Maisel Tov Martini experience is part of Prime Video and Grubhub’s ongoing “Tune In & Takeout” series, which helps people figure out what to watch and what to eat through unique food pairings and promos that connect to their favorite shows and movies on Prime Video. Grubhub has delivered exclusive experiences with the premieres of Harlem and Shotgun Wedding, and diners can expect to see even more unexpected collaborations throughout the year with upcoming releases like Citadel.

“We’re thrilled to continue our collaboration with Amazon Prime and Prime Video with our latest Tune In & Takeout series activation, bringing Grubhub and Prime members even more value and unexpected surprises, like the delicious pastrami-inspired martini,” said Marnie Boyer, vice president of marketing at Grubhub. “Since July, millions of Prime members have signed-up for the free, one-year Grubhub+ membership trial, which is a testament to what people are looking for today – convenience, savings and exclusive experiences.”

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is just one of the many award-winning series available with Prime membership. Additionally, 39% of respondents said they plan to buy cold or flu medicine in the coming weeks. With this partnership, customers can order all of their health and wellness needs in one spot, from vitamins, pain relief and medicine, to hydration drinks and their favorite feel-good snacks.

“We’re excited to partner with Rite Aid to grow Grubhub’s drugstore and convenience offerings, making it even easier for customers to get instant access to items that keep them healthy,” said Ariella Kurshan, senior vice president of growth at Grubhub. “This partnership could not come at a better time as we head into the winter months when delivery becomes an even more important way for people to get what they need to stay nourished and cared for when they can’t leave the house.”

“Our partnership with Grubhub is another way that we are offering the convenience and access that our customers want and need to keep them and their families healthy and happy,” said Dustin Humphreys, senior vice president of digital and e-commerce at Rite Aid. “We also look forward to expanding our reach to Grubhub’s loyal customer base and becoming a go-to option for their everyday health and wellness needs.”

Rite Aid is available on Grubhub+, Grubhub’s membership program where customers get access to unlimited $0 delivery fees on orders of $12 or more and exclusive Perks from restaurants on Grubhub. This partnership builds on Grubhub’s efforts in the convenience space, following its work with Gopuff and its branded concept powered by 7-Eleven, Grubhub Goods. Grubhub is Buying Lunch for NYC In a Movement to Make Sure the City That Never Sleeps Doesn’t Turn Into the City That Never Lunches

Grubhub Survey Reveals 64% of U.S. Workers Call Lunch the Most Important Meal of the Day, Yet Many Are Skipping It Due to Busy Schedules

CHICAGO, May 11, 2022 – A new survey¹ conducted by Grubhub found that lunch breaks are increasingly important to workers, which is especially true in New York City, with 72% of full-time employees calling it the most important meal of the day (compared with 64% of people working nationwide). Despite this, 69% of working New Yorkers admit they have skipped lunch because they were too busy, so Grubhub is helping them reclaim this important meal by giving all of New York City a free lunch on May 17.

“As one of the most dynamic dining cities in the world, New Yorkers have so many delicious food options at their fingertips when it comes to ordering lunch,” said Ariella Kurshan, Grubhub Senior Vice President, Growth. “As the city’s premier food delivery service, this is just one small step in our larger mission to connect local restaurants with hungry diners. Because being busy never has to get in the way of enjoying lunch.”

Between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. ET on Tuesday, May 17, people in New York City can use promo code FREELUNCH at checkout in the Grubhub app for up to $15 off their order subtotal. Plus, Grubhub will be offering an additional $5 off promotion in NYC until May 31 for anyone who missed out.

And to assist the more than one-in-three (35%) working New Yorkers who say they don’t take a lunch break because their calendars are booked, Grubhub will send anyone in NYC who opts in a calendar invite to remind them to get their much-deserved lunch. The calendar invite, offer terms, and more details about #FreeForLunch can be found here.

Additional survey findings uncover four-in-ten workers nationally say they take fewer breaks than they did two years ago. Yet, Americans cite that taking time to enjoy a lunch has benefits beyond just satisfying their hunger, in particular:

  • 87% of workers across the U.S. agree they look forward to lunch as a needed break during work, which rings true for Gen Z workers too (86% agree)
  • 50% of New York workers and 47% of workers nationally say that having a true lunch break improves their mental well-being and half (51%) of U.S. workers report lunch makes them feel re-energized and ready to take on the rest of the day
  • More than 1-in-5 (22%) U.S. workers say lunch is the most social part of their day

No matter how short on time people find themselves, Grubhub is making sure they can always eat with the convenience of fast delivery to their door or allowing them to skip the line by placing an order for pick-up. As always, the Grubhub Guarantee ensures meals are delivered on time, at the lowest price, or Grubhub will provide $5 off the next order.

¹Survey methodology: Representative online survey conducted by National Research Group among n=2,003 U.S. adults 18-44 employed full-time for at least one year (n=1,003 national, n=1,000 NYC DMA). Respondents had to work in an office setting or outside the place of home full-time, or in a hybrid, work-from-home/in-office or on-site environment. NYC DMA respondents had to work in one of the five boroughs. Survey fielded April 26-29, 2022.

Restaurant Strong Fund: Grubhub and The Greg Hill Foundation’s Restaurant Strong Fund have supported restaurants across the country to help them survive the pandemic and beyond. In 2021 alone, Grubhub and the Restaurant Strong Fund have given $6 million in grants to restaurants.

Donate the Change: For diners that opt-in to Donate the Change, Grubhub will round up their order total to the nearest dollar and donate the change to a charitable organization. Grubhub also matches all donations on Grubhub+ orders. In 2021, the Grubhub community raised over $24 million through our Donate the Change feature.

Grubhub Community Relief Fund:  We also created the Grubhub Community Relief Fund to give proceeds to organizations that provide relief for our restaurants and drivers. To date, the Grubhub community has raised $18 million to help support charitable organizations that support restaurants and drivers.

Grubhub and Transact Partner to Offer Universities Expanded Off-Campus Meal Spending Programs for Students

Grubhub’s more than 300,000 restaurants nationwide are now included in Transact’s off-campus merchant program, providing students with more ways to use their CampusCash.

Grubhub, a leading food-ordering and delivery marketplace nationwide, and Transact, the leader in innovative payment solutions for a connected campus, announced today a partnership to extend Grubhub’s restaurant network to Transact’s CampusCash program. The partnership enables more student spending off campus, allowing universities to better adapt to hybrid learning environments and increase availability for contactless meal delivery and payment options.

Transact’s CampusCash program allows the 12 million students that use its mobile-centric campus technology at more than 1,300 universities across the country to use their student ID cards for cashless payments at university-approved off-campus merchants. Grubhub’s robust network of more than 300,000 restaurants is now included in Transact’s off-campus merchant program. This partnership will allow students to use their university-branded CampusCash account while they are away from campus, even visiting family and friends across the country.

“Universities had to quickly adapt technologies to keep operations running smoothly over the last 18 months as they pivoted to hybrid learning and contactless dining experiences,” said Brian Madigan, vice president of campus and corporate partners at Grubhub. “We’re excited to partner with Transact to help university partners stay nimble with continued flexible meal models and expand the off-campus dining options available to students, while driving orders to local restaurants in their communities.”

“We’re always looking for ways to increase the value of student ID cards, and partnering with Grubhub to provide students with additional off-campus dining options makes the cards even more indispensable,” said Erica Bass, vice president of product management at Transact. “By giving students more cashless options to choose from, we’re doubling down on our efforts to provide a superior dining and overall campus experience.”

Campuses with an existing Transact off-campus merchant program can easily add Grubhub as an off-campus merchant to their existing program to give students more dining options. Matt Camino, director of the PacificCard™ at the University of the Pacific, said, “Our experience adding Grubhub to our off-campus flex tender program has been seamless. We added Grubhub to fill a gap for students who do not have transportation off campus readily available. Our students are excited about the additional food options and delivery services. With students returning to campus fully, I’m looking forward to the positive impact that Grubhub and CampusCash off-campus program partnership will provide.”

Fairleigh Dickinson University piloted the partnership with Grubhub and CampusCash for its  Teaneck, N.J., and Madison, N.J., campuses. Associate Vice President for Auxiliary Services, Bob Valenti, said, “Fairleigh Dickinson University is always looking for new and creative ideas to better serve our students. New ideas are easily implemented when you have partners willing to work with you for the good of the overall student experience. We’re fortunate enough to have established relationships with Transact – CampusCash and Gourmet Dining. As the Covid-19 pandemic became increasingly more severe, we were forced to limit our hours and dining options available on campus. We were faced with the dilemma of not only keeping our students safe, but also of providing them options outside our normal hours. With Grubhub as part of our program, we were able to offer students expanded hours, increased popular and local dining options, and the flexibility they needed to get them through some very rough times. Our students were so pleased and we’re happy to announce the partnership will continue to be included in some of our meal plans for the upcoming academic year.”
