CHICAGO, July 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — From veggie burgers to ratatouille, meat-free options continue to grow in popularity among U.S. diners, with 47 percent of Americans eating at least one vegetarian meal per week*. To help track how delivery and pickup restaurants are responding to this growing trend, GrubHub, the nation’s number one food ordering service, has identified the 10 most vegetarian-friendly cities in the country, with Seattle and San Jose, Calif., topping the list.
To compile the veggie-friendly ranking, GrubHub analysts reviewed the more than 15,000 online ordering restaurants available through GrubHub’s website and mobile apps. More than 9 percent of GrubHub’s restaurants identify vegetarian as one of their primary cuisines, with the following cities offering the highest percentage of vegetarian restaurants:
